Personal Statement:
To satisfy my passion for orthodontics I went back to orthodontic residency training after working as a general dentist for three years. Two additional years of specialty training solely in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics has given me the required basic sciences and clinical skills necessary to successfully treat routine and complex orthodontic cases efficiently and effectively. For the past three years I provided routine and complex surgical orthodontic treatment for some of the 80,000 active duty US military and their family members at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan.Working as a general dentist and an orthodontist in the United States Air Force has provided countless personal and professional opportunities. Providing comprehensive diagnostic and clinical orthodontic treatment for many multi-disciplinary and orthognathic surgery cases was especially rewarding. Emphasizing early intervention for children ages 6-10 has proven highly effective at shortening treatment time during later orthodontic treatment while modern treatment options like temporary orthodontic micro-implant anchor devices have improved treatment outcomes while minimizing bulky or compliance-driven mechanics like headgear and Herbst appliances.
I am grateful for the opportunity to work with you and your loved ones. I pledge to provide the most convenient, technologically advanced and caring orthodontic treatment possible. Early intervention and adolescent treatment are extremely appreciated. Cosmetic and InvisalignR cases openly welcomed. It would be my distinct pleasure to work on multi-disciplinary cases to include veneers, fixed and implant supported prosthetic dentistry as well as complex orthognathic surgical cases.
I am actively involved in my church and enjoy hiking, fishing, bungy jumping, coaching children’s baseball, Bible study, and spending time with my wife and six children.
Your family dentist should see you at least 2-4 times each year for examinations, fluoride treatments, and cleanings. Our office will arrange and coordinate these visits for you and your family to provide comprehensive oral care evaluation and treatment.

Sterilization
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as well as the US Center for Disease Control, has specific regulations that protect patients and employees from injury and illness in the work place. These "safe workplace" regulations pertain to occupational settings, including dental offices with one or more employees. While the primary purpose of the regulations is to safeguard employees, these procedures also protect the patient. For example, gloves provide protection for both you and the dental team.Don't let uncertainty about safety keep you away from the dentist's office, or cause anxiety while you're there, when a few minutes of conversation with your dentist can set your mind at ease.
Before you enter our examination room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental light, drawer handles and countertops have been cleaned and decontaminated with CDC approved anti-bacterial, virucudal, and tuberculocidal chemical disinfectants. Sharp items and anything contaminated with blood or saliva are disposed of in special containers. Dental instruments are cleaned and sterilized at very high temperatures after each time they are used on a patient. Ultrasonic cleaning and chemical spore indicators ensure the instruments we use are sterile between each and every patient.
